The first Redbird Card is free. A photo ID must be presented when you obtain your Redbird Card (i.e. Driver's License, State ID, passport, or military ID). Your photo will be taken.
Come into the Redbird Card Office during business hours. It helps if you have a photo ID, but if all your identification has been lost or stolen, you will still be able to get a new Redbird Card. Redbird Cards are replaced for free if the card is four years old or older.

The broken/damaged Redbird Card must be turned in to the Redbird Card Office at the time of replacement.

Your Redbird Card may not be held by campus departments for any reason. Your card is very important. Keep it in your possession at all times.
Unauthorized use or use by a party other than the person identified on the Redbird Card, as well as tampering or alteration, warrants confiscation and possible disciplinary action by the University.
To report a lost or stolen Redbird Card:
A second option is to call the Redbird Card Office at (309) 438-2273, during our office hours. The Card Office staff will turn your card off. After hours, please deactivate your Redbird Card through My Illinois State.

You may also call the Redbird Card Office at (309) 438-2273 during office hours to re-activate. If you have lost your current Redbird Card, but have found an old Redbird Card, you can bring in the old Redbird Card to the Redbird Card Office to have it re-encoded so that it will work. This is free of charge.
If you find someone's lost Redbird Card, please contact the Redbird Card Office at (309) 438-2273 as soon as possible. We can put a note in the student or staff member's record indicating the card has been found so that they do not purchase a new Redbird Card.
If possible, please drop the card off at the Redbird Card Office, located on the second floor of the Bone Student Center, or leave it with another department on campus where the student could pick it up. Otherwise, please leave your name and phone number so we can let the student know how to contact you to pick up their Redbird Card.
